Blues rest Terry and Lampard

England midfielder Frank Lampard will be rested for Chelsea’s clash with Newcastle after making his last club appearance of the season against Blackburn on Tuesday.

Defender John Terry is recovering from his ankle injury so also misses out while goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini will deputise for Petr Cech once again.

Midfielders Michael Essien and Claude Makelele are also expected to be rested for the trip to Newcastle.
