Nelsen blow for Blackburn

Blackburn manager Mark Hughes is almost certainly without stand-in captain Ryan Nelsen for tomorrow’s Barclays Premiership clash with champions Chelsea at Ewood Park.

The centre-back sustained a calf injury in Saturday’s 2-0 victory at Charlton, and with skipper Andy Todd also sidelined, it means Hughes will be forced to reshuffle his defence.

Lucas Neill switched from right back to centre against the Addicks in Nelsen’s absence, and he may again be forced step in, with Steven Reid covering for the Australian, and David Bentley on the right wing.

Team (from): Friedel, Neill, Khizanishvili, Nelsen, Emerton, Savage, Kuqi, Dickov, Bellamy, Pedersen, Reid, Mokoena, Tugay, Pongolle, Gallagher, Matteo, Bentley, Peter, Enckelman.
