Sunderland confirm takeover talks

Sunderland have announced they are in discussions with a consortium of private investors led by former Black Cats hero Niall Quinn regarding a possible takeover.

Chairman and majority shareholder Bob Murray confirmed at the end of last month he would be happy to sell the club if the right offer came along.

Zeus Capital have been appointed as independent financial adviser to represent the interests of all shareholders.
