Juve lead reduced to three points

Juventus drew at home against 10-man Lazio and saw their lead in Serie A over AC Milan reduced to just three points with three rounds remaining after the Rossoneri triumphed 3-1 at Messina.

Lecce could only earn a point against Treviso which meant they were relegated.

Most of the attention was on the Delle Alpi for most of the afternoon where it appeared a Tommaso Rocchi 29th-minute strike might give Lazio victory over Juve.

The visitors were holding on despite having Ousmane Dabo sent off for a straight red card just past the half-hour mark.

David Trezeguet scored an 87th minute equaliser for Juve – the second time in as many weeks they needed a late goal just to win a point.

In their previous game, Juventus did not score until the fifth minute of injury time to draw at Cagliari.

Milan put their midweek Champions League defeat in the first leg of their semi-final to Barcelona behind them by earning a 3-1 victory at Messina.

Juventus have games against Siena, Palermo and Reggina to play while Milan take on Livorno, Parma and Champions League-chasing Roma.

Lecce had to win to keep alive their faint hopes of staying in the top flight but after having a player sent off they drew 1-1 with Treviso.

Fiorentina won 2-1 in the Tuscan derby against Empoli, Roma were held in a scoreless draw at home to Sampdoria, Cagliari drew 2-2 with Ascoli, Inter won 4-0 at home over Reggina, Liverno won 3-1 over Palermo, Parma drew 1-1 with Siena and Udinese and Chievo also shared the spoils.
