Ince postpones retirement
Wolves captain Paul Ince has shelved plans to retire.
The 38-year-old former England skipper had been contemplating whether to hang up his boots at the end of Wanderers’ Coca-Cola Championship campaign.
But now Ince, who counts West Ham, Manchester United, Inter Milan, Liverpool and Middlesbrough as his former clubs, has confirmed his intention to play on for another year at least.
Ince, who will be out of contract at Molineux come the end of the season, said: “If I had let the team down this year I would have knocked it on the head.
“But I feel I have done okay and see no reason why I can’t continue playing.
“If the club wants me to then I am fully prepared to give it another year to help Wolves get to where they should be.”
Ince is likely to miss the final two games of the campaign however because of a hamstring injury.
And he added: “At least there is nothing riding on these last two matches other than pride because I would have been gutted to miss them if the play-offs depended on them.”
