Charlton defender banned
Charlton defender Hermann Hreidarsson will miss the last three games of the Premiership season after admitting a Football Association charge of violent conduct.
Hreidarsson escaped a booking after striking Fulhamâs Luis Boa Morte with an elbow during the 2-1 defeat at Craven Cottage last Saturday.
But the 31-year-old was charged earlier today and, after his admission, a statement from the FA confirmed: âHreidarsson will serve a three-match suspension with immediate effect.â
It means Hreidarsson will miss the Addicksâ remaining matches at Bolton, at home to Blackburn and at Manchester United.
Boa Morte, the Fulham skipper, scored both goals in the win against Charlton at Craven Cottage, the first with a free-kick from a wide angle which deceived the visitorsâ defence.
âThere was a gap at the near post so I just tried to slot the ball in there,â he said after the game.
âIt wasnât necessarily something Iâd worked on in training, but when you see an opportunity, sometimes you just have to try and take it.â
