Zurab Khizanishvili has signed for Blackburn on a permanent deal from Rangers.

The 24-year-old Georgian international defender has been at Ewood Park on loan this season and has now signed for an undisclosed fee and agreed a three-year contract.

Khizanishvili told Rovers World: “Everything is finished, I’m now a Rovers player and I’m really happy to stay here.

“It was a dream come true to play in the Premier League and to be part of a top-six club. It is a very friendly club and I was happy to sign, I’m looking forward to being here for a few years.

“To come on loan and have such a great season is wonderful, the team has done really well and we are still fighting for the Champions League or UEFA Cup.

“When I came here everyone thought we would be battling against relegation, but we are up there as a top-six club.”
