Mikel Arteta is expected to reclaim his starting role for Everton at Charlton tomorrow.

The midfielder has spent three weeks recovering from a jarred nerve in his back and could only manage a brief second-half appearance as a substitute in last weekend’s home draw against Sunderland.

But after a week‘s training, Arteta will be fit to start at the Valley. Matteo Ferrari is in the squad and challenging for a defensive role, while Nuno Valente is still out with a muscle strain.

Provisional squad: Wright, Hibbert, Yobo, Ferrari, Weir, Stubbs, Naysmith, Arteta, Cahill, Neville, Davies, Osman, Kilbane, McFadden, Beattie, Ferguson, Turner, Carsley.
