Drogheda United have been refused a request to sign another goalkeeper in time for next week’s Setanta Sports Cup semi-final with Linfield.

With first-choice goalkeeper Dan Connor suspended and second-choice Charlie Treacy doubtful, manager Paul Doolin faced a goalkeeping dilemma and hoped to be given permission to sign another goalkeeper.
