Drogheda United midfielder Paul Keegan has been named the eircom/Soccer Writers Association of Ireland Player of the Month for March.

Drogheda United midfielder Paul Keegan has been named the eircom/Soccer Writers Association of Ireland Player of the Month for March.

The 21-year-old midfielder was instrumental in Drogheda’s march to the top of the eircom Premier Division and Setanta Sports Cup semi-finals hitting three goals in eight matches to date.

Keegan hit winning goals in the eircom League against Bohemians and Bray Wanderers while he was also on target in the Drogs 4-0 demolition of Portadown in the Setanta Sports Cup.

The award caps what has been a remarkable nine months for the Dublin-born midfielder who has made an instant impact at United Park since joining from Leeds United helping the Drogs lift the FAI Carlsberg Cup for the first time.
