Trotters tie up Tal

Israeli international Idan Tal has signed a pre-contract agreement with Bolton and will join the club on July 1.

The 31-year-old midfielder has signed a three-year contract to return to the Premiership – he had two seasons with Everton at the start of the decade.

Tal made more than 20 appearances for the Goodison Park club before joining Spanish side Rayo Vallecano in 2002 and later returning to Israel.

Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce told the club’s official website, www.bwfc.co.uk: “Idan will add extra attacking flair to a midfield that already contains quality.

“He reminds me of West Ham’s Yossi Benayoun, and if he makes a similar impact on the Premier League as Benayoun and our own Tal Ben Haim have then we will have some player at our disposal.”
