Del Piero injury blow for Juve
Ten-man Juventus saw striker Alessandro Del Piero limp off during their 1-1 home draw with Roma in Serie A.
With the Champions League quarter-final first leg away to Arsenal on Tuesday the Turin side will be awaiting a medical report on Del Piero’s leg injury.
Juventus were denied a valiant, backs-to-the-wall victory as Houssine Kharja headed home with five minutes remaining to earn Roma a deserved point at the Stadio Delle Alpi.
Juve, whose lead at the top has been trimmed to eight points with this draw and second-placed AC Milan’s 3-1 win against Fiorentina, went ahead through Emerson’s header but were then forced to defend stoutly following Pavel Nedved’s 45th-minute dismissal.
They held out until the 85th minute but succumbed when Moroccan substitute Kharja nodded home Rodrigo Taddei’s flighted corner.
Param won 1-0 at home to Inter.
