El Hadji-Diouf is set to make his long-awaited Bolton return in the Barclays Premiership match at Middlesbrough on Sunday.

The Senegal striker is still to play for the Trotters since picking up a hernia problem on African Nations Cup duty but is expected to be in Sam Allardyce’s side as they try to remain in contention for a Champions League spot.

Ivan Campo (broken foot) has been given the all clear to return to training, while Matt Jansen (knee) is now approaching full fitness again, although neither will be considered for the Riverside encounter.

Provisional squad: Jaaskelainen, O’Brien, Hunt, Jaidi, Ben Haim, N’Gotty, Gardner, Giannakopoulos, Faye, Okocha, Speed, Nolan, Davies, Vaz Te, Diouf, Pedersen, Walker, Nakata, Borgetti.
