Dublin delighted by 'dream' goal

Veteran Celtic striker Dion Dublin thought another cup final appearance was beyond him but admitted scoring in the CIS Insurance Cup final victory over Dunfermline was a dream come true.

The 36-year-old former Manchester United and Aston Villa striker, who was signed from Leicester in the winter, came off the bench to score the final goal in a 3-0 victory.

He said: “To come on and get the third goal was the kind of thing you dream about.

“You think it’s not going to happen so this is a massive thing for me.

“I am 36 now and you think you are not going to play in a cup final again.

“But the gaffer (Gordon Strachan) had faith in me bringing me up here and he gave me the chance to score in the final.”
