Two players were sent off in a meeting between last season's FAI Cup holders and league champions for the second match running.
Drogheda’s record of having players dismissed against Cork continued as they lost Stephen Bradley after just 13 minutes for a second booking following a foul on Neal Horgan. Bradley, along with tem-mate Keith Fahey, had been sent off in the recent Setanta Sports Cup match in Cork.
Cork did have the better chance agiasnt ten men for much of the remainder of the game with Denis Behan bringing a good save from Dan Connor just before half time.
Cork then had Roy O'Donovan sent off in the 90 minute, also for a second booking.
