Portsmouth boost hopes

Portsmouth’s hopes of avoiding relegation were boosted after they demolished an under-strength West Ham side 4-2 at Upton Park.

Lomana LuaLua, Sean Davis, Pedro Mendes and substitute Svetoslav Todorov were on the scoresheet, with Teddy Sheringham and Yossi Benayoun on target for the Hammrs, who had rested six players ahead of Monday’s FA Cup quarter-final at Manchester City.
