Brown blow for United

Wes Brown has been ruled out of Manchester United’s Barclays Premiership trip to West Brom tomorrow.

The England defender picked up a groin injury in training earlier this week and although the damage is not extensive, Sir Alex Ferguson has decided not to risk him at The Hawthorns. Serbian Nemanja Vidic is set to play in his place.

Ferguson is still undecided about whether to recall top scorer Ruud van Nistelrooy although talk of resting Wayne Rooney has been dispelled by United assistant boss Carlos Queiroz.
