David Dunn (hamstring), leading scorer Jiri Jarosik (hamstring), Muzzy Izzet (calf) and Julian Gray (ankle) are almost certain to ruled out while Jermaine Pennant is battling to overcome a calf injury.

The likes of Neil Kilkenny and Stephen Clemence will be pushing for a senior recall. Skipper Kenny Cunningham is likely to return from a groin injury but fellow defender Matthew Upson is still troubled by groin and pelvic problems.

Striker Chris Sutton has recovered from groin and hip injuries but then injured his calf while undergoing rehabilitation work.

Birmingham (from): Maik Taylor, Melchiot, Martin Taylor, Cunningham, Latka, Lazaridis, Pennant, Johnson, Butt, Kilkenny, Painter, Bruce, Heskey, Campbell, Forssell, Vaesen, Clemence.
