Alonso back for Liverpool

Xabi Alonso will return to the Liverpool squad after his one-match ban for Sunday’s Premier League clash at Newcastle.

Liverpool also have defender Sami Hyypia fully fit following a hamstring problem that kept him out of the Benfica Champions League clash and forced him onto the bench for the home win over Fulham on Wednesday.

John Arne Riise is still doubtful with a calf injury, which means Stephen Warnock could come in at left-back in place of Djimi Traore, who played against Fulham.
