No part for McMahon in Italian job

Middlesbrough full-back Tony McMahon did not travel to Rome with his team-mates today after damaging knee ligaments at Charlton on Sunday.

McMahon, Fabio Rochemback (ankle), Stuart Parnaby (hamstring) and James Morrison (hip) were among the handful of senior players left behind as Boro look to push home their 1-0 UEFA Cup first-leg advantage against Roma.

Manager Steve McClaren rested nine men for the 2-1 defeat at The Valley, but all of them are included among a 20-man squad.
