Ten-man Cork overturn Dungannon
Cork City 2 Dungannon Swifts 0
Cork played for over an hour with ten men, but still had enough to beat Swifts and stretch their lead at the top of Group 1 to three points.
City winger Roy O’Donovan was shown a straight red card by referee David McKeon for striking JP Gallagher after retaliating to a challenge on him by Shane McCabe on 27 minutes.
But Cork kept playing and John O’Flynn latched onto Danny Murphy’s through ball to shoot them in front on 40 minutes.
George O’Callaghan sealed the win two minutes into the second half with a brilliant 25-yard free-kick.
