Smertin lift for Addicks

Charlton have no fresh injury worries ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Liverpool despite a clutch of first-teamers having been away on international duty.

Midfielder Alexei Smertin had been struggling with a knee injury but as he was able to play for Russia against Brazil in midweek he will travel to Anfield.

Winger Dennis Rommedahl is still not back in contention following six weeks out with a rib injury but should soon be turning out for the reserves, and the same applies to defender Gonzalo Sorondo (foot).
