Chelsea’s Eidur Gudjohnsen believes referee Terje Hauge ruined the chance for their clash with Barcelona to become another all-time classic by sending off Asier del Horno for his reckless challenge on Argentine striker Lionel Messi.

Del Horno’s first-half dismissal inspired Chelsea to take a second-half lead through Thiago Motta’s own goal but a similar error from England defender John Terry and an 80th-minute winner from Samuel Eto’o, gave the Spaniards a first leg advantage to take back to the Nou Camp.
