Glen Crowe his a brace as Shelbourne made up for last year’s final misery with a rousing opening night win in the Setanta Sports Cup, utterly outplaying a disappointing Glentoran at Tolka Park.

Bobby Ryan volleyed past Elliot Morris from the edge of the area to give Shels the lead on the half hour.

Crowe then got his first seven minutes later with an audacious lob from over 40 yards.

Crowe added a third on the hour when tapping home Ryan’s low cross.
