Babayaro claim dismissed

Newcastle full-back Celestine Babayaro has had his claim for wrongful dismissal rejected by a Football Association disciplinary commission.

Newcastle full-back Celestine Babayaro has had his claim for wrongful dismissal rejected by a Football Association disciplinary commission.

Babayaro was sent off at Aston Villa on February 11 for denying Milan Baros an obvious goal-scoring opportunity.

He will now serve a two-match suspension with immediate effect.

An FA statement said: “One match of the suspension is for the sending-off itself. The extra match is due to the fact that Babayaro admitted a charge of violent conduct in November last year, which counts as a previous sending-off under the disciplinary totting-up process.”
