United offload American youngster

Manchester United have released young American striker Kenny Cooper.

The 21-year-old arrived at Old Trafford in 2003 but despite featuring regularly for the Red Devils reserve side, failed to make a senior appearance for United.

Cooper becomes the third player to leave United this month, following the departures of midfielder David Fox and Finnish forward Jami Puustinen.
