Match-winner Louis Saha is looking forward to a Cardiff date with Wigan after sending Manchester United through to the Carling Cup final.

Saha struck the second-half winner as United overcame Blackburn 2-1 in their semi-final second leg to progress 3-2 on aggregate.

Saha told Sky Sports: “We are in Cardiff now, so it is good. It was a great performance.

“We expect a big game against Wigan. It is going to be tough but we are confident we can win it.”

United had led early through Ruud van Nistelrooy but Steven Reid equalised, and striker Wayne Rooney admitted they had come through a difficult test.

He said: “Both legs were tough games. Blackburn had a real go but we managed to come through.

“Getting to any final is great. We are in this competition to win it and hopefully we can do it.”

Wigan manager Paul Jewell is already looking forward to the Millennium Stadium encounter with United on February 26.

Jewell said: “They will be strong favourites.

“To be in a final with arguably the biggest club in the world will be a great day out – but we are not just going for the day out.”
