QPR have signed Polish defender Marcus Kus on a six-month loan deal, beating off competition from Reading and Leeds.

Crewe had Kus on trial recently but a deal for the 24-year-old was never sorted out and now he will spend the rest of the season at Loftus Road.

The centre-back is looking to use the spell on loan from Polonia Warsaw to push his way into Poland’s World Cup squad.

He told QPR’s website, www.qpr.co.uk: “It’s a good day for me. I’m hoping to force my way into Poland’s World Cup squad and playing for Rangers will enhance my chances.”
