Carver enters Republic frame

Bobby Robson is understood to be lining up long-time right-hand man John Carver to join him in the new Republic of Ireland set-up.

Robson is to be appointed in an advisory role to new manager Steve Staunton, providing there are no last-minute hitches in negotiations.
