Sunderland boss Mick McCarthy saw his side win at the 15th attempt – and after seeing off Northwich in the FA Cup insisted the Black Cats could shock Chelsea at the weekend.

Goals from Neill Collins, Dean Whitehead and Anthony Le Tallec secured a first victory for Sunderland since they beat Middlesbrough 2-0 in September, with their opponents from the Conference North brushed aside.
