Campo keen on Mallorca

The agent of Bolton defender Ivan Campo claims his client would be keen on a move to former club Real Mallorca.

The agent of Bolton defender Ivan Campo claims his client would be keen on a move to former club Real Mallorca.

Mallorca are reportedly interested in the 31-year-old, whose contract at the Reebok Stadium expires in the summer, and Miguel Angel Cermeno insists Campo would relish the chance to return to Spain.

Cermeno told Marca: “Someone has called us to say that Mallorca are interested in Ivan, the normal thing is that the club calls and so from here we are waiting to see if Bolton are ready to accept his departure.

“He would be delighted to go back to Palma and although he is highly valued at Bolton it would be very sad and a scandal if nothing happens.”

Campo made 33 appearances for the Balearic Island club in the 1997-98 season.

Reports in Spain suggest Birmingham striker Walter Pandiani is also close to joining Hector Cuper’s Mallorca and a deal is expected in the coming days.

The 29-year-old was near to signing for Espanyol last week but the two clubs could not agree a fee and now Mallorca are in the driving seat for the Uruguayan’s signature.
