Kanu facing fitness test

West Brom will give fitness tests to three players including Kanu – their two-goal hero against Tottenham – ahead of the trip to Anfield.

The Nigerian striker, who has been in superb form this season, sustained minor knee and thigh injuries against Martin Jol’s side.

Baggies boss Bryan Robson will also assess midfielders Junichi Inamoto and Zoltan Gera. Inamoto has missed the last two games with a thigh injury while Gera was left out of the win over Spurs as a precaution following his long lay-off with a groin injury.

Central defender Thomas Gaardsoe is again ruled out with the hamstring injury suffered at Old Trafford as Albion attempt to register their first away win of the campaign.
