Postponement should have come earlier - Souness

Newcastle manager Graeme Souness has admitted his surprise that Wednesday’s Premiership clash with Charlton was not postponed until less than half an hour before kick-off.

The Scot was disappointed that the game had not gone ahead after taking an hour to travel the three miles to St James’ Park, but had few qualms about the decision, other than the timing of it.
