Carr back for Magpies

Newcastle defender Stephen Carr returns to the squad for the first time since undergoing surgery on a hernia in November for tomorrow’s Barclay’s Premiership trip to Tottenham.

Midfielder Lee Bowyer begins a three-match ban following the failure of an appeal against his sending-off at Liverpool on Boxing Day, but Scott Parker (knee) and Titus Bramble (groin) are fit.

Emre has been allowed to return to Turkey for treatment on his hamstring injury, but Kieron Dyer and Craig Moore are still out with similar problems.
