Wigan end losing streak as Everton crash to Bolton

Henri Camara struck a hat-trick as Wigan snapped out of a five-game losing run in style with a 3-0 win over out-of-form Charlton at the JJB Stadium.

Camara gave the Latics the lead after nine minutes when he pounced on a rebound after Lee McCulloch’s shot hit the crossbar.

Charlton striker Darren Bent had a penalty appeal turned down early in the second half but Camara put the game beyond doubt with his second after 51 minutes and completed his treble 12 minutes later.

Three goals in the space of five second-half minutes killed off Everton as Bolton ran out 4-0 winners from a niggly game at Goodison Park.

Kevin Davies’ first goal since the opening day of the season, a looping header which dropped into the net off the post, was all that separated the sides at half-time.

Everton dominated the early stages of the second half and had a James McFadden equaliser disallowed for offside but Bolton killed the game with a quickfire treble.

Stelios Giannakopoulos made it 2-0 with a smart finish after a driving run from Ricardo Vaz Te on 75 minutes and then got a second after Gary Speed had converted a penalty.

Svetoslav Todorov handed manager Harry Redknapp his first victory since returning to Portsmouth with the winner in the basement battle against West Brom at Fratton Park.

Substitute Todorov broke the deadlock in the 56th minute – his first Premiership goal since May 2003 – when he finished coolly from a Lomana LuaLua cross and the hosts held on for a 1-0 success.

Fulham claimed 2-1 win over Blackburn at Craven Cottage after goals from Papa Bouba Diop and Luis Boa Morte.

Diop opened the scoring against the run of play when he caught Andy Todd out of position on the stroke of half-time. Boa Morte curled in a second after good work from Diop in the 53rd minute.

A Zat Knight own goal gave Rovers late hope but Chris Coleman’s side held firm through four minutes of injury-time.
