Mellor comeback for Reds
Liverpool striker Neil Mellor made his comeback after almost a year sidelined by injury in the reserves’ 2-0 victory over Manchester United’s second string.
Mellor, who scored for the first team last season, has been out since January after having surgery on both knees.
He last played for the first team in the Carling Cup against Watford and was on the field for 18 minutes against United.
Ramon Calliste, Liverpool’s young recruit from Manchester United, scored against his old club having been freed in the summer, and Besian Idrizaj added the second.
