Zamora sparks Hammers' first-half comeback

Birmingham 1 West Ham 2

Striker Bobby Zamora scored a superb individual goal as West Ham came from behind to lead at half-time against struggling Birmingham at St Andrews.

Emile Heskey had given Blues hopes of registering their first home win of the season after he had fired them into an 11th minute lead.

City lost Mario Melchiot and Muzzy Izzet through injury before Zamora skated past three challenges to level matters from a narrow angle.

Then in first half injury-time Marlon Harewood fired the visitors into the lead.
