Jewell to rotate players

Wigan manager Paul Jewell will again make wholesale changes for his side’s Carling Cup fourth-round tie with Newcastle at the JJB Stadium tomorrow.

Jewell changed the entire team for the 1-0 second-round win over Bournemouth, while nine changes were made for the 3-0 extra-time victory over Watford in the third round.

Goalkeeper Mike Pollitt definitely starts as John Filan has a knee injury, but the 10 outfield players that faced Spurs in a 2-1 defeat on Saturday are all likely to be rested.
