Wenger: I won't sue Mourinho
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has withdrawn his threat of legal action against Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho.
Wenger was considering action after Mourinho labelled the Highbury chief âa voyeurâ during a public row a fortnight ago.
But Wenger has reconsidered his position and now insists the verbal spat is history.
He said: âI wonât be taking any action. I havenât changed my mind about the basic problem but, having given it more thought, Iâve decided not to take it any further.
âItâs history. I want to focus on what is important for me and Arsenal,â he told the London Evening Standard.
The row rumbled on with Wenger calling Mourinhoâs comments âout of order and detached from realityâ. That prompted a further riposte from Chelseaâs Portuguese coach who claimed that his club had a dossier containing 120 pages of quotes from Wenger about the Barclays champions.
Relations between the two clubs hit rock bottom over the Ashley Cole âtapping-upâ scandal and descended deeper into turmoil during the public row.
The League Managers Association and the Football Association called for a halt to the slanging match and no doubt both parties will be relieved by Wengerâs decision not to sue.
