Vikings bid for return to top flight
Dublin City will attempt to defend a 2-1 lead when they face Premier Division Shamrock Rovers in tonight’s play-off second leg at Tolka Park.
The Vikings deservedly won the first leg at Dalymount Park and are now favourites to win the clash and relegate Rovers for the first time in their history, though manager Dermot Keely is taking nothing for granted.
“We’ll go and try and win the game. If we try to do anything else we’ll get beat. This is uncharted territory for us,” said Keely.
His counterpart Alan O’Neill has called on Rovers’ players to make themselves heroes.
“It is time for them to make themselves heroes. This club has had many heroes down through the years and none of them have never been forgotten,” said O’Neill.
