Newcastle captain Alan Shearer has been ruled out of Saturday’s trip to Chelsea.

Newcastle captain Alan Shearer has been ruled out of Saturday’s trip to Chelsea.

The former England striker travelled to Germany for a hernia operation during the international break but manager Graeme Souness today revealed the match at Stamford Bridge had come too soon for Shearer.
