Canaries sign Wright on loan
Norwich have signed Wigan defender David Wright on a one-month loan deal.
The 25-year-old right-back, who has played in most positions across the back four, goes straight into the squad to face Luton on Saturday and will be available for the following five Championship matches.
Wright, who will be reunited with former Crewe team-mates Dean Ashton and Jason Jarrett, told the club’s official website, www.canaries.co.uk: “It’s a great opportunity for me. It’s been frustrating for me this season, though obviously the Wigan lads have done fantastically well.
“I don’t think anyone expected them to be second in the league at this stage. It means my chances have been limited and I jumped at the chance to hopefully kickstart my career.”
Canaries boss Nigel Worthington, who also recently signed Preston midfielder Dickson Etuhu on loan, said: “He brings us more quality and experience to the squad. It’s a good deal for David and for us and it gives him a chance to get some football under his belt.”
