Tycoon interested in St Pat's deal

Multi-millionaire football fan Brooks Mileson is in talks with St Patrick’s Athletic about sponsoring the club.

Mileson owns Scottish side Gretna and was part of a consortium that was on the verge of purchasing Shamrock Rovers earlier this year before pulling out of the deal.

There has been persistent speculation that Mileson remained keen on getting involved in an eircom League club, with St Patrick’s Athletic his preferred choice, and he met club officials earlier this week.

He insisted that he is not looking to buy out the club, but to come on board as a sponsor. Mileson said: “I was at Richmond Park but it was to discuss a sponsorship deal.”
