Wei faces uncertain future at Celtic
Defender Du Wei has voiced concern over his future at Celtic.
The China international, who is in Macau representing his country in the East Asian Games, has not played for the Hoops since joining in August from Shanghai Shenhua.
Celtic will review the 23-year-old’s position at the club in January as part of his contract.
Du Wei told the Scottish Mail on Sunday: “Before I came back to China, Gordon Strachan talked with me.
“He said I was in sharp condition and hoped that I would stay. He allowed me to leave to join the national team. Being honest, attending the East Asian Games reflects my future at Celtic in some way.
“The key point is that I don’t know what will happen after I come back from the national team.
“Celtic will make a decision whether I can stay in the early part of next year, so it is a very important period for me to show myself to the club.
“I will try my best when I go back.”
