Pires still hoping for France recall

Arsenal’s French midfielder Robert Pires believes he may have a chance of returning to the France team after his fellow international outcast Nicolas Anelka was welcomed back into the fold.

Fenerbahce striker Anelka was yesterday recalled by coach Raymond Domenech to take part in France’s next two friendlies against Costa Rica and Germany, after a three-year absence.
