Kilgallon signs new Leeds deal

Leeds defender Matthew Kilgallon has signed a new contract to keep him at Elland Road until 2008.

Leeds defender Matthew Kilgallon has signed a new contract to keep him at Elland Road until 2008.

The 21-year-old’s previous deal expired at the end of this season and speculation was rife that he would leave the Whites as he struggled to break into Kevin Blackwell’s starting lineup earlier in the season.

But a number of assured performances in recent games have helped earn Kilgallon a new two-and-a-half year contract, much to the centre-back’s delight.

He told www.stellargroup.co.uk: “I am thrilled to have signed a new contract. I grew up at this club and obviously feel very strongly about what has happened in the past few years and what the fans have been through.

“Everyone here is determined to restore the club to its rightful place in the Premier League and we are all working hard to make that happen.”
