Manchester City striker Andy Cole will meet representatives of Ghana’s football assocation to discuss a possible coaching role at next summer’s World Cup.

Cole, who has been a revelation since joining City from Fulham in the summer, has been approached by the African country’s football officials and is happy to discuss their proposition on November 9.

The 34-year-old former England international told The Sun: “I’m really interested in what Ghana have to say and I am looking forward to meeting them to talk about the job.

Ghanaian football official Dennis Tawian said: “We want to give our players the best preparation possible for this World Cup and believe Cole could play a very important part in that.”

Ghana, whose star player is Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien, won their qualifying group to secure a place in Germany next summer.
