Heskey worry for Blues

Birmingham have a doubt over striker Emile Heskey for tomorrow’s Barclays Premiership clash at St Andrew’s against fellow strugglers Everton.

England international Heskey was forced off with a groin problem during Wednesday’s 2-1 Carling Cup win against Norwich but is optimistic he will be fit to continue alongside Mikael Forssell in attack.

Goalkeeper Maik Taylor and central defender Kenny Cunningham – rested against Norwich – return in place of Nico Vaesen and Martin Taylor but midfielders David Dunn (calf), Stephen Clemence (calf), Muzzy Izzet (Achilles), Mehdi Nafti (knee), Julian Gray (knee) and right-back Mario Melchiot (knee) are all missing.

Provisional squad: Maik Taylor, Tebily, Upson, Cunningham, Martin Taylor, Clapham, Jarosik, Kilkenny, Johnson, Pennant, Gray, Heskey, Forssell, Pandiani, Painter, Vaesen.
