Drogs book FAI Cup final spot
Drogheda United 2 Bray Wanderers 1
Goals from Declan O’Brien and Jermaine Sandvliet put Drogheda through to their first FAI Cup Final since 1976 and a meeting with Cork City scheduled for Tolka Park on December 4.
Though Bray had the best two chances of the first half it was man-of-the-match O’Brien's 29th minute strike that separated the sides at the interval.
Simon Webb’s free-kick deflected off the Bray wall and ran kindly for the Drogheda skipper who blasted to the roof of the net from close range.
Dutchman Sandvliet looked to have sealed victory on 80 minutes with punishing a defensive mistake to drill home from the edge of the area to make it 2-0.
Bray, however, hit back within two minutes when Colm Tresson shot to the corner of the net.
Andrei Georgescu then wasted a stoppage time chance to level as Drogheda held on to the delight of a packed United Park.
