Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez gave French striker Djibril Cisse a start in tonight’s Champions League group G qualifier.

The £14m signing started up front on his own, with Luis Garcia in a roving role and Mohamed Sissoko also given licence to attack against Anderlecht - who have created a competition record by losing nine successive group matches.
